More then 800 customers and and more then 9000 users in newsrooms, Radio/TV stations, gouvernment and press offices of major companies around the world are working with NewsWire.NewsWire was presented 1989 for the first time, approximately as also PC’s were introduced to journalists. News of press agencies was still printed out on teleprinters, at that time named „Ticker”. If the Ticker however started, all other communication stopped.

Our idea was to receive news noiselessly, directly acess agency texts in the editor and to be able to print only stories for further processes which are used. Furthermore, there was from the beginning a full text search possible. Instead of watching 600 - 1000 news a day or 320 m of role paper one simply inputed keywords got only hits indicated to this topic.

Today, 14 years later, NewsWire is internationally widespread. It handles AFP, ANA, ANP, ANPA, ANSA, AP, APA, ARD-Pool, belga, BNS, Combox, CTK, ddp, Dow Jones, dpa, EFE, EP, EPD, factiva, INTERFAX, ITARTASS, KNA, LUSA, MECOM, MEDIAFAX, MeteoMedia, MetroMedia, MTI, PAP, news of press-offices, REUTERS, Ritzeau’s Bureau, SDA, sid, STA, STT, TASR, Teletext, TTT, traffic news, Videotext, vwd and weather services. Beside of this, it can handle also , e-mails, audio and video, pictures, graphics and HTML-pages from the internet.

Also RSS-Feeds are received and with NewsTAB dpa’s “table service” could be displayed.

Alertchannels like in Germany from the „Bundesamt für Bevölkerungsschutz“ or the service „Civil protections“ from the European Commission with special warnings can be received.

NewsWire was already in the first versions polyglot, i.e. the users could work in German, English or French language alternatively. NewsWire multimedia can receive services also in cyrillics like TASS or ITARTASS beside Latin languages.
Radio stations prefer NewsWire™^â because it can receive and process also audio files.

Press offices of industry - banks and insurances uses especially the filter possibilities of the software. Received news referred to one or more keywords are printed out immediately or one is made aware on such a news simply acoustic.
